These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with Good Times Event Hire Co Pty Ltd for marquee hire, jumping castle hire, soft play hire, and any related equipment or services. By placing a booking, paying a deposit, or accepting delivery and setup of equipment, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking Confirmation

  • A booking is only confirmed once the required deposit has been received and written confirmation has been issued.
  • We may decline or cancel a booking if the site is unsuitable, unsafe, inaccessible, or if the requested equipment is unavailable.
  • The customer is responsible for checking all booking details, including the date, location, equipment, and hire period.

2. Deposit and Payment

  • A 30% deposit is required to secure the booking.
  • The deposit is part of the total hire price and will be deducted from the final invoice.
  • The remaining balance must be paid by the date stated on the invoice or booking confirmation.
  • If payment is not received by the due date, we may cancel the booking, subject to applicable law.
  • Additional charges may apply for extra time, damage, cleaning, missing items, relocation, or site-related issues.
  • A separate refundable security bond may also apply to certain bookings โ€” see Section 10 for details.

3. Cancellation and Refunds

  • For bookings under $500, a full refund is available if cancellation is made 7 days or more before the event date.
  • For bookings over $500, a full refund is available if cancellation is made 14 days or more before the event date.
  • If cancellation is made inside the relevant period, the deposit may be retained to cover reasonable administrative, preparation, and holding costs.
  • If the booking date or equipment can be rebooked, we may offer a partial or full refund at our discretion.
  • Refund terms may be varied by mutual agreement in special circumstances.
  • If we cancel the booking or cannot supply the agreed service, you will be offered a full refund or reschedule option.
  • Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

4. Weather Conditions

  • For outdoor hire, the customer is responsible for monitoring weather conditions and ensuring the event site remains suitable.
  • Marquees, jumping castles, and soft play equipment may need to be removed, relocated, or not used in unsafe weather conditions, including high winds, heavy rain, storms, or wet ground.
  • We may refuse to set up, or may require equipment to be shut down, if conditions are unsafe.
  • If weather makes the event unsafe, we will attempt to reschedule where possible, but refunds are not guaranteed unless required by law or agreed in writing.
  • Weather changes do not automatically entitle the customer to a refund unless we are unable to supply the service.

5. Site Access and Setup

  • The customer must ensure clear, safe, and timely access to the site for delivery, setup, and collection.
  • The setup area must be level, clean, and free from hazards, including sharp objects, animal waste, water, debris, and overhead obstructions.
  • The customer must disclose any stairs, steep driveways, narrow access, soft ground, obstacles, low trees, power issues, or other site limitations before the event.
  • If setup cannot be completed because the site is unsafe or unsuitable, the booking may still be charged.
  • Additional charges may apply if extra labour, time, or alternative access arrangements are required.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer is responsible for supervision of all guests, children, and users at all times unless we have expressly agreed in writing to provide supervision.
  • Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with any instructions provided.
  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when using jumping castles or soft play equipment.
  • The customer is responsible for ensuring users are of appropriate age, size, and number for the equipment supplied.

7. Jumping Castle Conditions

  • Jumping castles must not be used by anyone who is injured, unwell, intoxicated, pregnant, or likely to be placed at risk by the activity.
  • Shoes, food, drinks, sharp objects, jewellery, confetti, face paint, and other prohibited items must not be taken onto the equipment unless approved by us.
  • The equipment must not be overcrowded.
  • Flips, wrestling, rough play, climbing on walls, sitting on walls, or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
  • The jumping castle must be shut down immediately if winds, rain, or other unsafe conditions arise.
  • The customer is responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence, or failure to follow instructions.

8. Soft Play Conditions

  • Soft play equipment is intended for children within the recommended age range only.
  • Adult supervision is required at all times.
  • Food, drinks, shoes, sharp objects, and rough play are not permitted on soft play equipment unless approved by us.
  • The customer is responsible for keeping the equipment clean and protected from damage during the hire period.
  • Loss, staining, damage, or excessive cleaning required after use may result in additional charges.

9. Marquee Conditions

  • Marquees must be installed on a suitable site and secured as required.
  • The customer must advise us of underground services, irrigation, electrical lines, pavers, slabs, sprinklers, or anything else that may affect installation or anchoring.
  • The customer is responsible for obtaining any required council approvals, venue approvals, strata approvals, or body corporate approvals unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • The marquee must not be moved, altered, or dismantled by anyone other than our staff.
  • Any lighting, flooring, heating, or accessories must be used in accordance with our instructions.

10. Damage, Loss, Cleaning and Security Bond

  • The customer is responsible for any loss, theft, damage, staining, or excessive cleaning caused during the hire period, except where caused by our negligence or ordinary fair wear and tear.
  • Repair or replacement costs may be charged at our reasonable cost.
  • Broken, missing, torn, wet, muddy, burnt, or contaminated equipment may incur additional fees.
  • If equipment is returned or collected in an unsafe or excessively dirty condition, cleaning charges may apply.
  • For some bookings, a refundable security bond may be collected in addition to the deposit and hire price. The bond is held separately and is not part of the hire total.
  • The bond will be refunded in full within 5 business days of collection, provided all equipment is returned complete, undamaged, and reasonably clean.
  • Where damage, loss, or excessive cleaning is identified, the reasonable cost will first be deducted from the bond before any refund is issued.
  • If the cost of damage, loss, or cleaning exceeds the bond amount, the customer remains liable for the difference and will be invoiced separately for the additional amount.

11. Electrical and Power Requirements

  • The customer must provide access to a safe and suitable power source if required.
  • If extension leads, generators, or other power equipment are needed, the customer must advise us before booking.
  • The customer must not use damaged or unsafe power sources.
  • We may refuse to set up or operate equipment if we believe the power supply or electrical conditions are unsafe.

12. Force Majeure

  • We are not liable for delay, cancellation, or failure to perform our obligations where caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, fire, flood, road closures, government restrictions, power failure, strikes, or equipment failure outside our control.
  • In such cases, we will try to reschedule or provide an alternative arrangement where possible.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of enjoyment, loss of profit, or loss arising from circumstances outside our control.
  • Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.

14. Photos and Marketing

  • We may take photographs or videos of our equipment at events for marketing or portfolio use unless you tell us in writing before the event that you do not consent.
  • We will take reasonable steps to respect privacy and venue restrictions.

15. Changes to Booking

  • Any changes to the event date, location, equipment, or hire time must be requested in writing and are subject to availability.
  • Price changes may apply if the revised booking increases our costs or requires additional equipment or labour.

16. Agreement to Terms

  • By paying the deposit or confirming the booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
  • These Terms & Conditions form part of the contract between you and Good Times Event Hire Co Pty Ltd.
